Skin | Winter Skin Essentials #2

Yep, you guessed it, this is another post about how I keep my skin thoroughly moisturised during the harsh dry weather that winter brings. As I get older I definitely realising how much moisture my skin needs. My skin gets a pretty harsh treatment in my day to day life; overly hot shower, drying face cleansers, working with my hands in and out of water, and even licked lips in the wind. I've done another post reviewing my favourite hand creams which you can view here. This post will focus on more all-round products that you can use to nourish any dry patches you have needing attention.

The first product I'm going to rant about is Lanolin Cream by Blossom Health. This product is fairly new to me but has been recommended to me for just about eternity by well trusted women in my life. It has a fairly thin consistency that starts out quite oily but once worked into the skin is hardly noticeable except in the nourishment it offers. It does have quite a strong scent that might not be everyone's cup of tea. Personally, it reminds me of my grandmother (I assume she used this product quite a lot) and I am quite partial to familiar scents no matter how dowdy. It says to use this product on your face, neck and hands but I think I will avoid using it there. So far, it has been a dream to use on my hands and I know I will probably use it on my feet, come summer, and anywhere else that gets a bit dry and I'm too far from my normal body moisturiser.

Moving onto the Rosehip Oil by Trilogy, I have been using this product, or variations for over a year now. I first delved into Rosehip oil when I noticed my skin requiring more moisture than my regular oil-free moisturiser could offer. It has been my most recommended and well loved skin care item over the last twelve months. Just two drops rubbed into your skin in the evenings with or after moisturiser does wonders. It is so essential to replenish your skins natural oil levels after cleansing away the days grime.

Those are my current winter skin hydration recommendations. I am always keen to hear of more so let me know your favourites in the comments!

Happy Sunday lovely people!
Erin xx
